This has been a hard winter. Many have lost their lives – especially those who work in the medical world. We’re still fighting on many fronts. 75 years ago, in this same season, the world was emerging from a devastating war which had again ripped the world apart. So many young people were lost, giving their lives to protect freedoms they would never enjoy. So many noble people! So much for which to be grateful. They are like the beautiful orchids in our lounge that have comforted us throughout this winter. Spring is now upon us in the Southern Hemisphere – and one day we will also emerge from this current COVID war – and hopefully our other wars too. Let us be grateful for, and pay tribute to, those who help us throughout our winter days.
